11/8/2026Share
In honor of Art of Manga, Casita Manga, the first Latina-owned manga bookstore, hosts two book clubs focused on iconic series featured in the exhibition. On November 8, step into the world of Takahashi Rumiko’s classic manga Inuyasha, which follows the adventures of 15-year-old Kagome Higurashi. She falls into a well in her family’s shrine that transports her back in time, where she meets Inuyasha, a hybrid dog demon and human.
Open to both devoted fans and new readers, the program features a group reading followed by a moderated discussion, plus time to meet fellow manga fans, sit for a manga-style portrait by local artist Remi Yamamoto, and enjoy Art of Manga. Light bites and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Come back on Sunday, December 6, for another book club exploring Yoshinaga Fumi’s Ōoku: The Inner Chambers.
Tickets are $40 and include access to Art of Manga, a copy of Inuyasha, and a portrait. Member tickets are $24.
