About The Author
Born in 1973 in Ishikawa-ken, Japan, Hiromasa Yonebayashi studied Commercial Design at the Kanazawa College of Art. In 1996 Yonebayashi joined Studio Ghibli and worked as an "in-between" animator on Princess Mononoke (1997) and My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999), and as Key Animator for Spirited Away (2001), "The GHIBLIES Episode 2" (2002), Howl's Moving Castle (2004), and Ponyo (2008). He was also the Assistant Supervising Animator for Tales from Earthsea (2006).

Yonebayashi has also worked on short films for the Ghibli Museum, Mitaka. He was the Director of Animation for the "Mei and the Baby Cat Bus" (2002), the Supervising Animator for "Imaginary Flying Machines" (2002), and also storyboarded and directed "Evolution" (2008), a short film documenting the "Films Go Round" exhibit.

Yonebayashi made his debut as the director of a feature-length animated film with Studio Ghibli's production Arrietty. After Arrietty, Yonebayashi directed another Ghibli movie, When Marnie Was There (2014), then left the studio and made Mary and the Witch's Flower for Studio Ponoc.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free shipping on all orders over $75.

As a small, growing shop, we partner with trusted distributors to ship books directly to you. This allows us to offer a much wider selection while we build toward our first physical space.

We also use tiered shipping, which means the more you add to your cart, the lower the shipping cost per book becomes. So that means, even if you’re not quite at $75 yet, it often makes sense to grab one more volume and save overall.

Why shop with you instead of big retailers?

Every order supports a small, Latina-owned manga shop built by real fans who care deeply about the stories, the art, and the culture around it.

We curate with intention, not algorithms, and we’re building something bigger than a storefront: a space for collectors, readers, and fans to connect.

What is your return policy?

Because of how we currently fulfill orders, we’re not able to accept general returns at this time.

The only exception is if your order arrives damaged or incorrect. If you experience either, please reach out to us at casitademanga@gmail.com
and we’ll be more than happy to personally help you with a damage/error return.

Can I cancel or change my order?

We move quickly to get your order on its way.

If you need to make a change, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to catch it before it ships. Once it’s on the way, we’re unable to modify the order.
